Following the murder of Hadiya Pendleton, her Chicago community decided they were tired of losing their youth to gun violence. Hadiya’s family and friends started the wear orange campaign to celebrate Hadiya, and others who’ve lost their lives of gun violence around the world. Used by hunters as a symbol of life and safety, the color orange was selected to represent the collective hope of a vibrant future without gun violence.

From June 1 – June 3, millions of Americans will be wearing orange in an attempt to “stand up, speak out, and raise awareness for gun violence.”
